Split PCD Grinding Shoes Husqvarna
Split PCD Grinding Shoes Husqvarna
A two-bar PCD shoe that locks onto the Redi-Lock holder of a Husqvarna grinder. Each shoe carries metal bond PCD segments, and the working edge breaks into chips rather than one solid blade, so the shoe has no leading edge and no preferred mounting side.

A Ring Of Chips, Not One Solid Blade
The shoe sits on the Redi-Lock holder used across the Husqvarna grinder range. We mount metal bond PCD segments as bars in the shell, and the split edge breaks the contact line into a series of small cutting points instead of one continuous blade.
Split chip edge
The contact line breaks into separate cutting points. That is what keeps the bite shallow compared with a solid PCD blade.
Metal bond PCD bars
The segments are set as bars in the shell. A metal bond matrix holds the PCD in place through coating pass after coating pass.
No set direction
Nothing on the segment defines a front. Clockwise head or anticlockwise head, the shoe behaves the same, and it drops into any slot on the plate.
Redi-Lock fitting
Shaped for the Redi-Lock holder on Husqvarna grinders. Send the machine model and we will check the pattern before shipping.
Why Shallower Is The Point
Break that edge into a ring of separate chips and the arithmetic changes. The same machine weight now lands on many small points instead of one blade, so every point takes a shallower bite. You still lift the coating, but you stop short of cutting a groove into the slab under it.
Nothing in the segment sets a front, so the shoe has no preferred direction. A clockwise head and an anticlockwise head behave identically, and the shoe drops into any slot on the plate - no sorting heads, no checking orientation between passes.
The surface you are left with
Coating gone, surface flat. Because the bite is shallow, the slab is close to the profile the polishing sequence wants, which takes load off the first diamond step.
What the tool refuses to do
It strips what sits on the concrete. It will not dress the concrete itself. On a bare slab the chips mark the surface, so change to a metal bond diamond tool the moment the coating is clear.
Coatings It Takes Off
On the floor, this shoe earns its place on adhesive and mastic work first: old carpet glue, contact adhesive, VCT mastic and black tar. From there it handles epoxy, acrylic and screed residue, cured paint and varnish, and the thicker rubber coverings that a diamond tool tends to skate over. Concrete and terrazzo are both fine as substrates.
Adhesive and mastic
Carpet glue, contact adhesive, VCT mastic and black tar. Springy, sticky stuff that a diamond segment slides straight over and a PCD chip grabs.
Resin and screed
Epoxy, acrylic and screed residue. With the chips cutting correctly these come away in sheets, not airborne dust.
Paint and film
Cured paint and varnish lift without much effort. Keep the passes moving on thin coatings, or the chips will travel down into the concrete.
Thick rubber coverings
Heavier rubber sheet on concrete or terrazzo - the material a diamond tool tends to skate across rather than cut.

How It Ships
Packed in cartons and foam. Depending on order size, PCD shoes are supplied as inner foam trays inside export cartons, with the backing logo facing out.

Your Mark On The Shoe
Two things on this model are open to your specification: the colour of the shell, and the logo on the back face. Both are handled at our works, not by a third party, so the sample you approve is what the production run delivers.
Shell colour
Send a reference, a sample or a colour code. We match the shell to it.
Back-face logo
The back face is the one that stays visible once the shoe is on the plate. Your mark goes there, applied before packing.
Six Things We Need To Quote
Give us these and the reply will be a definite shoe, not a general price list.
- ✓Husqvarna grinder model, so the Redi-Lock pattern can be checked.
- ✓What is on the slab, and roughly how thick it is.
- ✓One segment or two.
- ✓Plain shell, or a custom colour and logo.
- ✓First-order quantity, and whether you want a trial set first.
- ✓Any carton or labelling requirement for your market.
How An Order Comes Together
01. Machine and floor
You tell us the Husqvarna model and what is on the slab. We check the Redi-Lock pattern and settle on one segment or two.
02. Trial set
We build a set to that specification and send it out, so the first real test happens on your floor, not in our works.
03. Sign-off
Shell colour, back-face logo, segment count and carton layout are agreed in writing before the production run opens.
04. Run and release
The batch is made on our own line, checked against the signed specification, then packed and booked onto your shipping schedule.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Husqvarna machines take this shoe?
Any machine that runs the Redi-Lock holder. Tell us the grinder model and we will check the plate pattern against it before the order is confirmed.
What does the split edge do that a solid PCD blade does not?
A solid blade puts the whole load on one narrow edge, so it cuts deep and scores the slab. The split edge spreads that same load over many small points, so each one takes a shallower bite and the slab comes out flatter.
Is there a correct way round to mount it?
No. Nothing in the segment sets a direction, so the shoe behaves identically on clockwise and anticlockwise heads and can go in any slot on the plate.
One segment or two - how do I choose?
Work back from the floor. A thin or springy coating on a soft slab wants one segment and a close eye on the cut. Heavy epoxy across a wide area wants two. On a floor that changes from bay to bay, carry both and swap as you go.
Should the operator lean on the machine?
No. Machine weight plus steady travel does the cutting. Extra downward force flattens the cut and packs coating into the chips.
Wet or dry?
Either. Pick whichever suits your dust control and the finish the customer wants.
What happens if I keep running it after the coating is gone?
The chips start cutting the slab itself and will mark it. Stop as soon as the coating is off and change to a metal bond diamond tool for the surface work.
Can the shoe carry our brand?
Yes. Shell colour and the back-face logo are both customizable, and we build to your specification and packing.
What is the smallest quantity you will make?
One set. We also supply sample sets so you can trial the shoe on a live floor first.
