Most plant buyers pick a floor the way they'd pick office paint - "This one's ¥10 cheaper per square meter, let's go with the glossy one."
Then year three hits: forklift tires are chipping the edges, the sheen is gone, and you're suddenly pricing a full tear-out. Meanwhile the warehouse next door - same aisle width, same traffic - is still sweeping the same dry-shake hardener floor in year eight like it's brand new.

The glitch isn't careless buying. It's that we compare upfront per-sqm quotes like we're shopping decor, not capital infrastructure that has to survive tire shear, thermal shock, and daily washdowns.

 

Let's flip the frame and judge these three systems by annualized cost - the only number that doesn't lie.

 

1. These aren't three flavors of the same product. They're different species.

2. Why hardener gets blamed for "failing in three years" (it's usually three avoidable blunders)

Blunder #1 - Miss the dry-shake window, and it never bonds.
You've got roughly 20–30 minutes after initial set (foot leaves 1–2 cm, no mud on the sole). Too early and grit sinks into bleed water; too late and it sits on top like driveway gravel - then delaminates on the first hard turn.

 

Blunder #2 - A fatty base slab defeats premium aggregate.
Water-cement ratio above ~0.45 with over-slumped concrete = thick laitance on top. No brand of grit rescues a surface that never properly hydrated. Practical spec: slump 160–180 mm, w/c ≤ 0.45.

 

Blunder #3 - Skip the cure and skip the densifier. Moist-cure minimum 7 days. If a 3-ton pallet jack rolls on day 3, you've sandblasted your own capex. And the line item most crews quietly delete: penetrating silicate densifier after troweling - a few yuan per㎡ that adds 3–5 years and permanently kills the dust.

Mainly foot traffic + pallet jacks + someone wants that high-gloss "cleanroom look"? → Epoxy - but write the Year-4 recoat into the original budget so nobody gets ambushed in Year 5.

❄️🧪 Freezer (−20 °C), hot washdown, dairy/meat, acid splash, steam shock? → PU cement. On those jobs, "saving" ¥60/㎡ usually buys a production shutdown in Year 3. Don't optimize there.
