Having been engaged in diamond tools for so many years, in addition to understanding the production of diamond tools, it is also necessary to understand and master the relevant knowledge of stone. Now we are sharing some common and useful stone knowledge through the Huice tool.

granite

Core Features:

It is an igneous rock with a distinct granular texture, mainly in gray, dark gray and sesame black. Polished pieces boast excellent luster and dense, uniform grains.

Performance:

  1. Mohs hardness 6-7, with high compression, wear, frost and acid-alkali resistance.
  2. Water absorption <0.5%, ensuring stable performance without deformation or fading.

Advantages: Durable for harsh outdoor environments, low maintenance cost and long service life.

Disadvantages: Light-colored variants get dirty easily outdoors; high processing difficulty and heavy weight.

Applications

🏡 Outdoor floors, courtyard countertops

🏢 mall/hotel public floors.

🏠 exterior wall cladding, dark kitchen countertops

Tips for granite stone Processing

  • Chamfer edges during processing;
  • clean only with water, no frequent waxing;
  • choose dark colors for outdoor use.

Sintered Stone

It is an artificial stone made of feldspar and quartz under high pressure and temperature (>1200℃), imitating natural textures, pore-free, impermeable and available in large sizes.

Performance:

Mohs hardness 6-7, resistant to wear, scratches and high temperatures (>200℃). Water absorption <0.02%, easy to clean and stable in performance.

Advantages:

Balances practicality and beauty, easy to maintain, cost-effective than luxury stone, and fits multiple scenarios.

Disadvantages:

High brittleness, easy edge chipping, requires professional installation, and is heavy.

Applications

Kitchen/bathroom countertops, indoor floors/walls, dining tables, partial outdoor countertops, laboratories.

Tips for Sintered Stone Processing

  • Cut professionally to avoid edge chipping.
  • Add a backing plate for countertops.
  • Avoid impact on edges

Limestone(Limra stone)

Core Features:

It is a high-end natural limestone formed by marine sedimentation, with fine shell textures and pores, mainly in beige/cream, combining retro and luxury styles.

limra stone

Performance:

Mohs hardness 3-4, average wear resistance, water absorption 1.5%-2.5%. Easy to effloresce and stain, with poor frost resistance.

Advantages:

High-end texture, strong style recognition; fits French/wabi-sabi high-end decoration.

Disadvantages:

High maintenance cost, poor weather resistance; needs in-depth outdoor treatment and has a higher price than ordinary limestone.

Applications:

Retro villa exterior walls/floors, high-end lobbies, feature walls, fireplaces, stair steps.

Tips for limeStone Processing

  • Conduct in-depth waterproof and frost-proof treatment for outdoors.
  • Apply anti-efflorescence agent first.
  • Clean with neutral detergents regularly.
