Diamond Semiconductor Substrate Project Planned To Be Newly Built in Henan Province

Recently, the People's Government of Linzhou City publicly announced the acceptance status of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the Annual Production of 50 Million Ultra Wide Bandgap Wafer Level Semiconductor Heat Sink Project (Phase I) by Henan Saimi Jinshi Semiconductor Co., Ltd

 

Diamond semiconductor substrates are known as the "ultimate semiconductor" due to their ultra wide bandgap, high thermal conductivity, and high breakdown field strength, making them core materials in cutting-edge fields such as 5G communication, high-power electronic devices, and quantum computing. It is understood that the project will be constructed in stages. The first phase will include the construction of growth clean workshops, laser processing workshops, testing workshops, and other auxiliary infrastructure. The second phase will expand production capacity and build a metallization treatment workshop.

 

According to the Environmental Impact Assessment Report of the Construction Project, the total investment of the project is 300 million yuan, covering an area of 7300 square meters, with a total of 2 floors and a total construction area of 14600 square meters. The first phase will build a growth clean workshop, laser processing workshop, testing workshop and other auxiliary infrastructure, and the second phase will expand production capacity and construct a metallization treatment workshop. This project only uses one floor of the building. The design involves the construction of 500 MPCVD crystal growing furnaces, with a monthly production capacity of approximately 0.72kg per furnace. Therefore, the annual production capacity of MPCVD crystal growing furnaces is 3.6t, meeting the demand for an annual production capacity of 30 million semiconductor heat sinks.

 

The project is located at Building 9, Phase II, Auto Parts Industrial Park, Hongqiqu Economic and Technological Development Zone, Anyang City. Linzhou is located in the northwest of Henan Province, in the west of Anyang City, at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain, at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei, and Henan provinces. Its main industries are equipment manufacturing, high-quality steel and deep processing, and new materials. This project will help accelerate the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing industries in Linzhou, expand and strengthen the three leading industries of equipment manufacturing, advanced inorganic non-metallic materials, high-quality steel, and deep processing, promote the transformation of "Linzhou manufacturing" to "Linzhou intelligent manufacturing", and strive to build the agglomeration area into a national level electronic new material industry base, a national level new energy vehicle parts industry base, and a Henan Province high-quality steel and deep processing base with national competitiveness.
