Guangshan Creates An Annual Synthetic Diamond Production Base Of 1.2 Billion Carats

China Securities News journalist Ta Xue visited Guangshan Advanced Manufacturing Development Zone, located on the Bank of Guandu River. Here a horse is flat, the roads are vertical and horizontal, and modern industrial parks are springing up. The tall buildings with frame structure can not be seen at a glance and stand out against the white snow.

In the workshop of Guangshan New Material Industrial Park of Pingmei Shenma Group, hundreds of six-sided top hydraulic presses are arranged neatly. These devices can't hear anything, but in fact they have something inside them. At 50,000-60,000 atmospheres and 1,400 degrees high temperatures, pure carbon materials such as black graphite powder are constantly converted into bright artificial diamonds.

 

"This is a magical industry," said Chen Guojun, chairman of Guangshan New Material Industrial Park of Pingmei Shenma Group, whose working principle is to change the molecular structure of graphite into diamond by changing it at high temperature and pressure in an environment imitating natural diamonds.

World diamonds look at China, China diamonds look at Henan. Chen Guojun said that China accounts for 90% of the world's diamond production capacity, with Henan contributing 80% of that capacity, and many listed companies such as the Yellow River Cyclone and Power Diamond were born. The rise of synthetic diamond industry has opened up business opportunities for more companies.

Chen Guojun said that in 2020, Pingmei Shenma Group laid out new material industry in Guangshan County, the old revolutionary area, in accordance with the orientation of industrial development. At present, the Group has established the target that the annual output value of Guangshan Diamond New Material Industrial Park will reach 10 billion yuan in the future.

"In retrospect, we also find it amazing that three years has been a great achievement," said Wang Nianwang, member of the Party Group of Guangshan County Government and director of the Management Committee of the Advanced Manufacturing Development Zone. In 2020, Pingmei Shenma Group will build a new material industrial park in Guangshan. Guangshan County takes this project as the No.1 Project and sets up a special class to specially promote it. Each functional department implements the "babysitting" service, creating a "Guangshan speed" of 22 days for land leveling and 67 days for putting into operation.

In September 2021, the diamond cutting line project went into operation. In May 2022, the diamond project went into operation to produce and cultivate diamonds. Currently, the park has annual diamond production capacity of 800,000 carats and 1.2 billion carats.
