On February 24th, Henan Province High-quality Development Exchange Meeting of Superhard Materials Industry was held in Xuchang, which was guided by Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, hosted by Xuchang Municipal People's Government, and organized by Changge Municipal People's Government, Henan Institute of Diamond Materials Industry, Superhard Materials Branch of China Machine Tool Industry Association, and Henan Huanghe Cyclone Co., LTD.

Representatives of experts and scholars from 17 colleges and universities including Jilin University, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, about 93 industry associations and representatives of enterprises inside and outside the province attended the exchange.

New Journey of high quality development of superhard materials

Superhard materials, known as "industrial teeth", are an important cornerstone to support the construction and development of national economy. They are widely used in aerospace, national defense, electronic information, exploration and mining, building materials, diamond cultivation and other fields.

As the first listed company of superhard materials in China and one of the organizers of this event, Pang Wenlong, chairman of Huanghe Cyclone, said in his speech that after more than 20 years of development, Huanghe Cyclone has developed into a large enterprise integrating scientific research, manufacturing, trade and investment.

 

Zhao Shuhong, deputy mayor of Xuchang Municipal People's Government, said in his speech that Xuchang has actively introduced construction innovation carriers around advantageous industries such as electric power equipment, automobile manufacturing and superhard materials, strengthened joint construction, emphasized management and worked for cooperation, and comprehensively enhanced industrial development vitality, innovation ability and internal power, providing strong support for scientific and technological innovation and economic development.

It has a relatively complete industrial chain

Henan Province is the birthplace of China's superhard materials and products industry. The output of artificial diamond and cubic boron nitride accounts for 80% and 95% of the country respectively. There are more than 3,000 industrial production enterprises in Henan Province.

According to Sun Zhaoda, secretary general of the Superhard Materials Branch of China Machine Tool Industry Association, the whole domestic superhard materials layout is centered in Henan province and diverge to the coastal and other areas to serve the domestic and international market.

From the upstream raw materials and special equipment, to the midstream diamond, cubic boron nitride, composite materials, and then to the downstream application to various fields, Henan Province has a relatively complete industry chain of superhard materials enterprises, they play their own important roles in various fields.

By the end of 2021, there are more than 300 superhard material gauge enterprises in Henan, with an industry scale of about 40 billion yuan, among which about 30 enterprises have sales of over 100 million yuan.

"There are more than 20 listed companies related to superhard materials, and companies in Henan province account for almost half of them." 'In 2021, Henan's single crystals exceeded 16 billion carats, basically accounting for 80% of the world's total,' Mr. Sun said. 3 billion carats of diamond micropowder, 600 million carats of cubic boron nitride, 3 million carats of cultivated diamonds.
