There are various problems in the production process of diamond segments, including problems caused by improper operation during the production process, and various reasons caused by the formulation and bonding agent preparation process. Many of these problems affect the use of the blade. Generally, in such a situation, the diamond blade cannot be used or cannot work well, affecting the production efficiency of stone slabs and even increasing production costs.

The following are the situations in which diamond segments are prone to quality problems:
- 1 Problems with the size and specifications of the diamond segments
Although the diamond segments is a mixture of metal alloy and diamond sintered in a fixed mold, the final product is completed by cold pressing and hot pressing sintering, and the material is relatively fixed. However, due to insufficient sintering pressure and sintering temperature during the diamond segments processing, or insufficient or too high temperature and pressure during the sintering process, the diamond segments will be unevenly stressed, so there will naturally be differences in the size and specifications of the diamond segments. The most obvious manifestation is the height of the diamond segments. The place where the pressure is insufficient will be high, and the pressure is too high. Therefore, it is very necessary to stabilize the same pressure and temperature during the production process. Of course, in the early loading process, the cold pressed material of the diamond segments should also be weighed; also be careful not to take the wrong mold, which will cause the diamond segments to be scrapped. The size of the diamond segments does not meet the requirements, the density is not enough, the hardness does not meet the requirements, there are debris in the transition layer, and the strength of the diamond segments is not enough.
- 2. The density is not enough and the diamond segment is soft.
In the process of cutting stone with a soft and dense diamond segments, the problem of diamond segments breakage will occur. The breakage is divided into local breakage and overall breakage. No matter which kind of breakage, such a diamond segments cannot be reused. Of course, the breakage of the diamond segments is the ultimate situation. When cutting stone with a diamond segments that is not dense enough, it will not be able to cut due to its insufficient Mohs hardness, or the diamond segments will be consumed too quickly. In general, the density of the diamond segments must be guaranteed. This situation is generally caused by the sintering temperature, holding time, insufficient pressure, wrong selection of binder materials, excessive diamond content in the diamond segments, etc. This situation is very common. Old formulas will also have this situation, and the general reason is caused by workers' improper operation. If it is a new formula, most of the reasons are caused by the designer's insufficient grasp of the formula. The designer needs to better prepare the formula of the tool head, combine temperature and pressure, and give a more reasonable sintering temperature and pressure.
- 3 The blade(diamond segments) cannot cut the stone
The main reason why the diamond blade(segment) cannot cut the stone is that it is not strong enough. There are five main reasons for the lack of strength:
- Insufficient diamonds or poor quality of diamonds;
- Impurities such as graphite particles and dust are mixed into the blade when mixing and loading, especially during the mixing process, uneven stirring can also lead to this situation;
- Excessive carbonization of diamonds and too high temperature lead to serious carbonization of diamonds. During the cutting process, diamond particles can easily fall off;
- The blade(segment) formula design is unreasonable, or the sintering process is unreasonable, resulting in low strength of the working layer and transition layer (or the working layer and non-working layer are not tightly bonded). Generally, this situation often occurs in new formulas;
- The blade(segment) binder is too soft or too hard, resulting in disproportionate consumption of diamond and metal binder, which causes the diamond matrix binder to be unable to hold the diamond powder.
4. diamond segment falling off
There are many reasons for diamond segments falling off, such as too many impurities, too high or too low temperature, too short heat preservation and pressure holding time, inappropriate formula ratio, unreasonable welding layer, different formulas of working layer and non-working layer, resulting in different thermal expansion coefficients of the two. When the diamond segments is cooled, shrinkage stress appears at the connection between the working layer and the non-working layer, which eventually leads to the reduction of diamond segments strength and diamond segments falling off. These reasons are the reasons for the falling off of diamond segments or the tooth loss of saw blade. To solve this problem, first of all, it is necessary to ensure that the powder is fully stirred and free of impurities, and then match reasonable pressure, temperature, and heat preservation and pressure holding time, and try to ensure that the thermal expansion coefficients of the working layer and the non-working layer are close.
Although there may be some factors that affect the quality during the production process of diamond segments, Quanzhou Huice Company has many years of production experience and currently has more than 20 fully automatic hot press machines, ten automatic cold press machines and other advanced production equipment. With the help of advanced production equipment, perfect production processes and years of accumulated experience, the quality problems of diamond segments in the production process can be effectively reduced.
During the processing of diamond diamond segments, there will be other problems, such as too fast consumption, such as stuck diamond segments, such as eccentric wear, etc. Many problems are not just problems with diamond segments, but may be related to factors such as machinery and stone types.
