In addition to cultivating diamonds, industrial diamond single crystals are also in a high business cycle, which is also an important factor for the improvement of the operating performance of the synthetic diamond industry in 2021. The industry agrees that the strong demand for lab-grown diamonds has squeezed the production capacity of industrial diamonds to a certain extent, leading to a rise in prices in short supply.

Some people in the industry told reporters: "Affected by the growth of external demand and the distribution of internal six-sided top presses in industrial and civil use, the supply of industrial diamonds will exceed demand in 2021, and the price will increase by about 50%. At present, if the civilian market continues to open, With the steady growth of industrial downstream demand, the price of industrial diamonds will still increase in 2022."

Liu Wenzheng, chief analyst of the new consumer group of Minsheng Securities Co., Ltd., said in an interview with reporters: "In 2021, the supply of industrial diamond single crystals will exceed the demand, and the price will rise, from 20 cents per carat to 30 cents per carat, an increase of 40%-50%. %. The main reason is that in terms of supply, a part of the six-sided top press in the industry has shifted to the production of cultivation drills, resulting in a contraction in the overall supply. The demand is mainly divided into two parts. First, the fields where diamond single crystals are directly applied include oil and gas Mining, building materials and other fields demand relatively rigid, second, diamond single crystal is the raw material of diamond micropowder, so the growth of demand for photovoltaic micropowder and consumer electronics micropowder also drives the demand for diamond single crystal.”

Against this background, the diamond single crystal and diamond micropowder business also achieved substantial growth compared with the same period last year. Taking Power Diamond as an example, its diamond micropowder and diamond single crystal will achieve revenue of 156 million yuan and 137 million yuan respectively in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 54.54% and 38.14% respectively.

Regarding the market situation of industrial diamond single crystals in 2022, in Liu Wenzheng’s view, the price will continue to rise at least in 2022, because the overall supply of equipment six-sided top presses is only about 1,000-1,500 sets, and the increase is relatively limited, and the increase Quantitative equipment is also mainly used for the production of grown diamonds, so industrial diamonds will continue to be tight.
