Generally, medium diameter diamond circular saw blades are mainly used for cutting edges, corners, or slotting of stone and other materials, as well as for cutting high-density refractory materials, high-voltage electric porcelain bottles, concrete pavement, asphalt pavement expansion joints, runway anti-skid grooves, wall materials, cement floors, electrical insulation materials, etc.

 

Medium diameter saw blades are often used on small bridge cutting machines (hydraulic or manual), while mobile cutting machines (such as road expansion joint cutting) are often operated by hand-held cutting machines; Large saw blades with a diameter of less than ∅2000mm are mainly used to cut already mined stone materials into slabs.

 

Saw blades larger than ∅2000mm are commonly used for shaping irregular raw materials and cutting boards. Large saw blades are commonly used in bidirectional cutting machines, desktop cutting machines, and large bridge hydraulic cutting machines; It is also possible to use a set of large saw blades with the same diameter or two sets of different diameters (such as ∅800/∅1200mm, ∅1000/∅1600mm, etc.) to cut boards in groups, which can significantly improve efficiency. The boards can be processed thinner, lighter in weight, and have higher stone utilization rates.

 

 

The combination of two sets of large saw blades with different diameters is to first cut the stone to the maximum depth with a small-sized saw blade, then lift it up and move it to another position before starting to cut downwards from the top surface of the stone. At the same time, the same number of large-sized saw blades as the small-sized ones are used to continue cutting downwards along the cut already made by the small-sized saw blade. This combination utilizes the neat and regular cutting of small-sized saw blades to fix the lower blade of large-sized saw blades, in order to reduce the adverse effects caused by large swinging and easy deviation of large-sized saw blades. Of course, group use requires higher standards for the quality of the diamond saw blade substrate, product quality, consistency in the thickness of the diamond blade head, flatness and stress balance of the substrate, symmetry of the blade head welding, differences in specifications between large-sized and small-sized saw blades, as well as higher requirements for saw machine power, rigidity, accuracy, cooling conditions, etc. Vibration, heat dissipation, and tool head dropping are several issues that must be addressed when using group saws.

 

Except for a few varieties (such as some medium diameter full edge saw blades used for cutting floor tiles, marble, and high-voltage electric porcelain bottles), most medium and large diameter diamond circular saw blades use diamond blade heads (segments) made first and then welded to the saw blade substrate; Some medium and large diameter saw blades (∅400~1200mm) used for processing marble can first be made with softer copper based diamond cutting heads, and then lightly tapped with a copper rod to embed them into the gaps of the substrate teeth (interference fit).
