If you're involved in the stone industry, you'll likely hear the term "block," but industry insiders won't usually explain what block is unless you ask.
Block is raw material that has been processed. For ease of transportation, it's usually shaped into blocks of stone that meet specific specifications for slab production or other uses. This is called block, the raw material shipped from stone ore to stone carving factories.
Block is both a product of stone mines and a raw material for slab processing factories. The unit of measurement is cubic meters, meaning it's priced by volume.
According to statistics from the China Stone Association, the world's top 10 countries with the largest stone block production are China, India, Turkey, Brazil, Italy, Iran, Spain, Egypt, Portugal and the United States.

In terms of output scale,
China and India account for 30.08% and 14.20% of total production, respectively, and a combined share of over 40%;
Turkey, Brazil, Italy, Iran, and Spain account for approximately 30% of total production;
Other countries account for less than 30%.
Looking at the competitive landscape among major global stone companies, stone production and large-scale trading companies are primarily concentrated in stone powerhouses such as Japan, India, the United States, Italy, and Spain. Companies such as Japan's ADVAN, India's GEM, the United States' ROCK OF AGES, Spain's LEVANTINA, and Italy's INKAS and R.E.D. GRANITI are all highly competitive stone companies worldwide. Driven by the competition among these large companies, the global stone industry continues to advance.
