The general principle of selecting the hardness of electroplated diamond grinding wheel is: in the processing of soft metal, in order to prevent the abrasive from falling off prematurely, choose hard grinding wheel, strong wear resistance, long service life. The grinding ratio of CBN grinding wheel can reach 3500-5500. It is 100 times higher than ordinary synthetic corundum grinding wheel and 3-5 times higher than diamond research grinding wheel.

Advantages of electroplated diamond grinding wheel

① Electroplating technology is simple, less investment and convenient for manufacturing enterprises;

② No need to repair, more convenient use;

③ The single-layer structure design determines that it can develop to achieve a very high working and learning speed, as high as 250-300m/s abroad;

④ Although we only have a single layer of diamonds, it's still enough.

There is no reinforced metallurgical bonding between the coated metal and the substrate and the abrasive bonding surface. The abrasives are actually just mechanically embedded and inlaid in the coated metal, so the retention force is very small, the diamond particles bear heavy loads, and lead to overall failure; In order to increase the retention force, the thickness of the coating must be increased. As a result, the exposure height of the abrasive particles is reduced, the space of chip tolerance is reduced, the grinding wheel is easily blocked, the heat dissipation effect is poor, and the workpiece surface is easy to burn out. The optimization design of electroplated grinding wheel according to processing conditions has not been realized in domestic manufacturing. The disadvantages of the inherent mode of single layer electroplated diamond grinding wheel will greatly limit its application in grinding technology.

The main difference between resin bonded diamond grinding wheel and electroplated diamond grinding wheel

Resin bonded diamond grinding wheel mainly uses phenolic resin and a small amount of metal powder as bonding agents, while electroplated diamond grinding wheel is a grinding wheel production process in which Ni-Co alloy is deposited on the grinding wheel, and the metal substrate surface is fixed by electrodeposition and diamond abrasive.

The main differences in performance are:

1. In terms of the research on processing technical efficiency, due to the higher level of abrasive used by electroplating grinding wheels in our country, and we only had one layer of abrasive, we had its own advantages in performance management of heat dissipation system, so electroplating diamond grinding wheel processing efficiency and higher.

2. In terms of the service life of the network, the electroplated grinding wheel only has such a layer of abrasive, so the service life of the electroplated grinding wheel is not as good as that of the resin diamond grinding wheel;

3, in the processing method precision analysis, the impact on the workpiece material surface roughness, in the same granularity, electroplating grinding wheel processing enterprises surface roughness is worse.
