On July 28-29, 2025, the academic atmosphere inside the Jiajin Hotel in Zhengzhou was lively, and the International Diamond and Related Materials Application Conference entered its second phase - the International Conference. As one of the largest and highest specification academic events in the field of superhard materials worldwide, this conference has attracted experts, scholars, and business representatives from more than 40 domestic and foreign universities and research institutes, as well as over 300 leading enterprises.
Professor Li Chengming from Beijing University of Science and Technology delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the organizers. The International Diamond and Related Materials Application Conference will provide key support for breakthroughs in superhard materials in cutting-edge fields such as semiconductors and quantum technology. Diamond, as a new generation of semiconductor material, has shown great potential in the field of electronic devices, and requires the joint efforts of the global industry university research community to promote technological innovation and industrial upgrading.
On the 28th, the topics of "Diamond Electronic Equipment and Detectors", "New Structures and Innovative Applications", "Diamond Growth and Processing", and "Electrochemistry and Biotechnology" became highlights of the conference. Experts and scholars from internationally renowned universities such as Waseda University in Japan, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology in China, Kanazawa University in Japan, Xi'an Jiaotong University in China, and Cardiff University in the UK had in-depth exchanges and discussions on cutting-edge topics such as diamond field-effect transistors, ultra wide bandgap semiconductor devices, MOSFET technology, substrate preparation, and high-frequency devices.
During the conference, attending experts reached an important consensus on the development trend and industrialization prospects of diamond electronic devices. Everyone agrees that with the continuous breakthroughs in preparation technology, the application of diamond materials in power electronics, high-frequency communication and other fields is accelerating from the laboratory to industrialization.
On the 29th, the conference continued to conduct in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics such as diamond electronic equipment and detectors, diamond growth and doping, diamond quantum and color centers, and thermal management. For example, in terms of diamond growth and doping, experts present analyzed the mechanism of nitrogen, boron, phosphorus and other doping elements in regulating the electrical and optical properties of diamond. At the same time, the latest process improvement plan and experimental data were shared to address the growth bottleneck of large-sized and high-purity diamond single crystals. The collision of viewpoints and technologies from experts and scholars at home and abroad has provided a communication platform for researchers in related fields, promoting the development of diamond materials and related application technologies.

As the conference progresses, this intellectual feast that gathers global wisdom is gradually entering the countdown. This conference not only anchors clear coordinates for the innovative breakthroughs of diamond in the field of electronic equipment, but also builds a cross regional and industry university research cooperation bridge, promoting technological innovation from materials in the laboratory to production lines, and exploring the path from theoretical collision of basic research to industrial landing. I believe that with the collaborative efforts of top scholars and industry forces around the world, diamond, the "king of new materials," will shine even brighter in the field of electronic equipment, injecting a continuous stream of new momentum into the upgrading and iteration of the global industry in the future.
