September 3rd Military Parade in The Eyes Of An Ordinary Chinese

Today is the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. I watched the entire parade with great excitement. I was very excited and happy. Many foreign friends may not understand China's military parade, so I will answer your questions about it from the perspective of an ordinary Chinese.

1. How do Chinese people view the September 3rd military parade?
From my personal perspective, my wife watched the live broadcast of the military parade on her phone after dropping the kids off at school. She's not one to pay attention to current affairs, but she was incredibly enthusiastic about today's parade. I woke up and cast my phone screen to watch the parade on TV. I didn't go to work. After the parade ended, I opened my phone and checked my social media, and saw that everyone was watching. Everyone had stopped what they were doing to watch. Even taxi drivers and delivery drivers stopped their cars to watch. Regardless of age or profession, everyone watched.

 

From my perspective, the vast majority of people today were watching the parade, and we were all spontaneously proud of our motherland.

 

Watching the progress of our motherland and recalling the humiliating history of recent times, tears welled up in my eyes several times.

 

2. Why does China hold a military parade?
I personally cannot interpret the September 3rd military parade from a national or political perspective. I was raised to be peace-loving. I believe that even today, when we hold a military parade of this scale, it is not for the sake of war, but for the sake of lasting peace and development.

 

There's an old Chinese saying, "不战而屈人之兵为善之善也To conquer the enemy without fighting is the best of all good things," and "上兵伐谋The best strategy is to defeat the enemy's enemy's plans." These two sayings can simply be understood as meaning that solving problems without resorting to force is the most advanced strategy. Therefore, our country has always adhered to this philosophy. We love peace and desire development, not war.

 

China has experienced numerous wars in its history, and we are deeply aware of the damage they have caused us. We also know that backwardness leads to suffering, so we constantly strive for development.

3. How do ordinary Chinese people view Japan?
Personally, I'm very willing to do business with the Japanese, travel to Japan, and welcome Japanese tourists to China. However, I will never forget the crimes committed by the Japanese in China, and I will teach my next generation to always remember them. If a war breaks out against Japan, my blood will boil. I'll rush forward even with bricks, even if it means blocking bullets or becoming cannon fodder. I'll be the first to do so. This is my attitude toward Japan as an ordinary person.
