Flame brazing is a kind of brazing method developed very early. The equipment required is simple and light, the gas source is wide, the process cost is low, but its heating temperature is not easy to control, and it is gradually eliminated by the mainstream market.
Salt bath brazing heating speed and uniformity, high brazing efficiency, brazing matrix metal deformation is not easy, suitable for mass production. However, salt bath brazing leaves a large amount of brazing fluid on the workpiece after welding, and post-welding cleaning produces a large amount of waste water and pollution to the environment. In addition, salt bath brazing equipment is expensive, the process is complicated, the production cycle is long, and more importantly, the green manufacturing wave is eliminating the dip brazing of diamond tools.
High frequency induction brazing has high heating speed and high brazing efficiency. Simple operation, low labor intensity; Brazing all kinds of complex shape and multi-tooth workpiece; When automatic feeding, atmosphere protection or vacuum induction brazing is used, the joint has a good appearance and brazing quality.
This method not only has low production cost in a single welding, but also the matrix can be re-welded and reused. With the increase of labor cost of diamond tool manufacturing and the improvement of brazing quality and stability requirements of diamond tools, automatic induction brazing technology has gradually become the main method of welding diamond sawing tools. Automatic induction brazing of diamond tools can realize automatic tooth splitting, automatic identification of picking tool head and automatic sending of welding pieces. It has the advantages of high welding precision, firm brazing joint, long service life, etc., one person can operate multiple machines, greatly reducing labor costs.
Resistance brazing is often used for honing rod brazing, and its weld quality is good. However, because the overall temperature of the cutter head is high, which affects the service life of diamond, there are a few enterprises adopt this process at present.
Furnace brazing (continuous atmosphere furnace brazing) is mainly used for small saw blade and special-shaped diamond tool production, generally using hydrogen and nitrogen generated by decomposition of ammonia as reduction gas, heating speed is slow and uniform temperature, brazing joint appearance, reliable quality, bright workpiece surface, high production efficiency, low welding cost, suitable for mass production.
Vacuum brazing generally adopts resistance furnace radiation heating, which has high production efficiency and uniform heating. It can weld diamond tools with complex structure and large size. At present, vacuum brazed single-layer diamond tools are widely used in the manufacture of resting tools, grinding wheels, stone tools and glass tools, and vacuum brazed multi-layer diamond tools have a good prospect of industrial application.
In recent years, laser brazing has been applied to fabricate single layer diamond tools. In the process of laser brazing, the workpiece is heated quickly and the diamond stays in the high temperature state for a short time, which can effectively avoid the graphitization of diamond.
At the same time, the laser brazing process can also realize the orderly arrangement of diamond particles, high heating efficiency, precise temperature control, complex surface processing, high degree of automation, good working environment. The proximity effect and skin effect of high frequency induction brazing can be avoided by using laser brazing method to weld large and complex workpiece.
