China's Synthetic Diamond Output Accounts For 95% Of The Global Total Output

On August 6th, the Zhengzhou Superhard Materials Industry Chain Special Training and Benchmark Enterprise Study Activity was held. At the event site, Li Zhengxin, honorary president and chief scientist of the High tech Industrial Technology Research Institute of Henan University of Technology, said that China's synthetic diamond output accounted for 95% of the world's total output

 

At present, the superhard materials industry mainly focuses on the application of synthetic diamond and cubic boron nitride. Among them, synthetic diamond is a "divine weapon" for processing non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials, but it will react with iron atoms at high temperatures; Cubic boron nitride is produced for processing black metals, and its chemical stability prevents problems such as sticking to the blade when processing iron-based metals.

 

The superhard material industry chain in Henan Province is basically complete, with independent supporting facilities that are basically controllable. Raw and auxiliary materials such as single crystals, micro powders, grinding tools, and cutting tools, as well as downstream applications, are all complete. National testing centers, national standardization committees, national industry associations, and other institutions, as well as leading listed companies in superhard materials such as China National Machinery Industry Corporation and Sifangda, are all located in Henan.
