Statistics on my country's Synthetic Diamond Exports in the First Half of 2026
According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, both the export volume and export value of synthetic diamond (single crystals and micropowders) from my country declined in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period the previous year.
In the first half of 2026, my country's export volume of synthetic diamond stood at 1.809 billion carats, down 11.20% year-on-year; the export value was 461 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 13.67%.
The following is a statistical summary of semi-annual export data from recent years.

Due to adjustments in export tax rebate policies made last year, export figures for 2026 have been nearly halved compared to the second half of 2025. Furthermore, viewed against recent trends, current export volumes have fallen below the typical levels seen two years ago; the industry may be facing challenges such as shrinking demand and overcapacity. It remains to be seen whether a recovery will occur in the second half of 2026; otherwise, the sector will face significant downward pressure for the year as a whole.
Statistics indicate that in the first half of 2026, the average export price of synthetic diamond from my country was 0.255 yuan per carat, a year-on-year decrease of 2.78% compared to the same period last year.
In terms of export destinations, the top ten markets for my country's synthetic diamonds are Japan, India, Ireland, South Korea, Italy, the United States, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Belgium; combined exports to these regions totaled 1.589 billion carats, accounting for 87.80% of the total export volume. Notably, exports to Japan reached 457 million carats-representing a 28.79% share-making it the leading export destination in the first half of the year.

It is worth noting that while India was the largest export destination for my country's synthetic diamonds during the same period last year-with exports totaling 582 million carats-exports to Japan surged nearly fourfold, rising from 95 million carats to 457 million carats in the first half of this year.
In terms of provincial export rankings, the top five regions-Henan, Jiangsu, Hainan, Guangdong, and Hunan-accounted for a combined export volume of 1.603 billion carats, representing 88.62% of the total. Hainan Province demonstrated remarkable growth, with exports skyrocketing from 5.08 million carats in the first half of last year to 221 million carats, thereby rising to become the third-largest exporter of synthetic diamonds in the country.

In the first half of 2026, the top five provinces in my country for synthetic diamond exports were Henan, Jiangsu, Hainan, Guangdong, and Hunan.
