Brazing diamond tools
Brazing diamond tool is a tool product that solders a layer of diamond firmly to the metal base through the melting process of metal solder by brazing. These products are characterized by higher efficiency, long service life of single-grain diamonds and high grinding accuracy. The main products cover all coarse and medium-coarse-grained plated diamond tools and some hot-pressed diamond tools.

In order to avoid problems such as low holding power, small chip space, low exposure height and easy falling out caused by traditional manufacturing methods, and to make greater use of the advantages of single-layer diamond tools, since 2000, brazing technology has been applied in the field of diamond tools manufacturing and has been rapidly developed. Brazing technology, as a new manufacturing method of diamond tools, has attracted wide attention at home and abroad.

Brazing method is different from other welding methods. The melting temperature of brazing alloy is lower than that of base metal, and the brazing temperature is lower than solid line of base metal and higher than liquid line of brazing material. For diamonds, this requires that the brazing temperature is lower than the graphitization transition temperature of diamonds. During brazing, the filler metal wets, capillaries, fills, spreads and closely wraps the diamond abrasives on the diamond surface, while the chemical-metallurgical bonding between the diamond and the filler metal alloy takes the form of carbides.

Diamond tools manufactured by brazing method have high bonding strength of diamond abrasive grains and high cutting edge height, improved sharpness and cutting performance, fixed chip space and relatively large size, and are particularly suitable for high-speed and high-efficiency grinding, processing and precision machining of difficult-to-process materials.

In recent years, high-temperature brazing single-layer diamond tools have become the research and development hotspot of domestic and international universities and manufacturers.
