For stone processing plants, the daily processing of stone generates a large amount of waste, including Scraps, Chips, And Sludge. 6. Terrazzo Production

 

 

Terrazzo is a composite material made by mixing aggregates such as crushed stone, glass, and quartz with a binder to create a concrete product, which is then ground and polished. Traditional terrazzo typically uses cement as a binder, resulting in a rough surface that is prone to weathering and abrasion, and with significant limitations in color expression. However, in recent years, since the introduction of epoxy resin as a binder, the shortcomings of terrazzo have been perfectly addressed. The material is now finer, smoother, and brighter, exhibiting a vibrant aesthetic. Furthermore, it is lighter in weight, eliminating concerns about excessive weight when installed on the second or third floor.

 

Nowadays, new terrazzo can be prefabricated or cast in situ. Prefabricated terrazzo is very easy to install and construct, similar to tiles. New terrazzo has a wider range of applications than traditional terrazzo; it can replace tiles and flooring in almost any home.

 

The development of terrazzo is of great significance. Currently, my country has a wide variety of ground and wall materials, and new terrazzo should occupy a prominent place among them. Furthermore, developing high-end terrazzo technology, transforming waste into valuable resources, can achieve sustainable development and promote the development of synthetic and multi-functional stone materials.

7. Made into potassium sodium feldspar powder.

 

 

Potassium feldspar and sodium feldspar are indispensable raw materials in the manufacture of ceramics and glass. In glassmaking, adding potassium feldspar and sodium feldspar as sources of aluminum oxide and sodium oxide to the formula prevents glass crystallization, improves mechanical strength and chemical corrosion resistance, and lowers the melting temperature of the glass batch during production, thus saving energy and reducing the high-temperature viscosity of the molten glass. In ceramic production, sodium feldspar can be used as a fluxing agent, promoting the melting and sintering of clay and quartz, and contributing to the mechanical strength of the ceramic body.

 

In recent years, wollastonite-type microcrystalline glass has become popular. This is a multi-crystalline composite material formed by crystallization on the surface of glass particles, where crystal patterns on the crystal interface, under the influence of the remaining glass phase, display a layered texture. Its decorative effect is similar to natural granite, but it also combines the advantages of both glass and ceramics, being wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, stain-resistant, and having excellent weather resistance. It is also color-adjustable and non-radioactive. In recent years, it has been considered an ideal substitute for high-grade natural stone and architectural ceramics.

 

Furthermore, industries such as chemicals, abrasives, welding electrodes, enamel, and potash fertilizers also require potassium feldspar and sodium feldspar as additive raw materials.

 

Feldspar minerals are one of the main rock-forming minerals in granite, and many granite varieties contain a high proportion of feldspar. Although the content of aluminum oxide and sodium oxide is lower than in pegmatite, the deposit scale is larger. Therefore, more commercial feldspar can be obtained through feldspar-quartz separation technology.

 

Although the domestic production of microcrystalline glass for architectural decoration has reached a considerable scale, the industrial raw materials such as alumina and soda ash required in the production process are expensive and difficult to melt. Potassium feldspar and sodium feldspar are ideal raw materials for introducing silica, alumina, and sodium oxide into wollastonite-type microcrystalline glass. This not only alleviates the problems of high cost and difficulty in melting industrial raw materials to a certain extent, but also opens up a new path for high-value-added applications of stone waste, reducing environmental damage. The same applies to ceramic and glass manufacturing.

08. Manufacture of foamed ceramics

 

 

Foamed ceramic is a high-porosity, closed-cell ceramic material produced through advanced manufacturing processes and foaming technology at high temperatures. It has been a popular product in the ceramic industry in recent years. Due to its low cost, as its raw materials are mostly waste from tile production and mine tailings, and coupled with the rise of prefabricated buildings and government policy subsidies, the application of foamed ceramic has gradually expanded and entered the public eye. Currently, it is widely used in large industrial buildings such as building partitions, steel-frame buildings, warehouses, factories, workshops, and insulation rooms. With further research, it is expected to be widely used in interior partitions for shopping malls, offices, hotels, schools, and home renovations, and is poised to become a key environmentally friendly building material for walls, following in the footsteps of fly ash bricks.

 

Through exploration and research, the technology for producing lightweight foamed ceramic panels using granite waste has matured. This technology allows foamed ceramic to be produced using ceramic factory waste, coal slag, and stone waste as the main base materials, resulting in lightweight, high-strength, waterproof, moisture-proof, fire-resistant, earthquake-resistant, heat-insulating, sound-insulating, highly versatile, easy-to-mix, and widely applicable foamed ceramic products.

09. Made into clay tiles

 

 

Terracotta panels are one of the most widely used materials for curtain walls on the market today. ​​Terracotta panels can be considered an environmentally friendly material and a recyclable material, as they are made from various inorganic materials such as construction waste soil, discarded cement blocks and residues, and stone powder. The simple raw materials and easy processing make them very popular with customers.
